UC Davis Children’s Hospital

The UC Davis Children’s Hospital has been serving families in need for over 50 years. One of the most impactful programs offered by UC Davis is their Child Life department. Child Life refers to a specialized field within healthcare that focuses on the developmental and emotional needs of children and their families in medical settings. The UC Davis Child Life Program engages in a variety of play-based activities and coping skills aimed at supporting children and their families in a hospital setting as well as offering play opportunities, distractions, and emotional support for the siblings of pediatric patients.

RYKER is proud to support UC Davis Children’s Hospital by way of volunteering, through the sponsoring of eligible community members to participate in the program, as well as financial contributions and donations in kind. Volunteers provide enthusiastic play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities such as games, reading, and arts and crafts, to help children and their families cope with the stress and anxiety of hospitalization and normalize a healthy way to play.
